F of X · forest festival

A festival to take part in.

F of X brought creators, artists, founders and collaborators into a forest for several days of workshops, performances, shared meals and experiments. It grew from the same interest behind RTX and BHX: what becomes possible when people with different practices get enough time together?

The question

What happens when a festival feels like a place to take part?

The programme made space for different ways of expressing and learning, across heart, mind, body and hands. People stayed together, including guides and performers. That changed the relationship between a session and the rest of the day: a conversation could begin in a workshop and continue at the table or beneath the trees.

The forest mattered. It took people out of their usual routines, and it gave the festival a setting that could hold both a large group and smaller moments. The work was to shape an invitation, a programme and a place where participation felt natural.

What stayed with me

F of X showed me that scale and intimacy have to be designed together. A festival can have a crowd and still leave room for a person to meet someone, try an idea and feel part of what is happening.

It was made by a large team of producers, artists, guides, partners and the people who came to take part.
